BARBARA DOMER: Valparaiso City Council District 3

I am pleased to report Ordinance #7 – 2024, requesting additional appropriations of $4.05 million in funding infrastructure/paving, was passed at the City Council meeting last evening. Consensus was reached to use the following funds and amounts:

Local Road & Street $1,350,000

Cigarette Tax $ 450,000

Motor Vehicle Highway Restricted $ 900,000

Riverboat Funds $1,350,000

Total $4,050,000

This appropriation is in addition to the $4,750,000 budgeted amount, bringing the total for 2024 paving to $8,800,000! Now the work begins to call for bids to target completion this paving season! The City Engineer will post the list of streets to be paved on the city website.
