BARBARA DOMER: Valparaiso City Council District 3

I am grateful to have been a member of the 2024 council review team (along with fellow council member Peter Anderson). I made recommendations for funding several Valparaiso organizations, whose approaches to combating this devastating disease, are varied. I have learned there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to recovery. The PACT recovery care coordinator, Kristi Chervenak, continues to inspire and amaze me with her dedication and support to those in need. Her funding request for website/marketing campaign emphasizes her strategy of outreach: we want all folks in our community who are impacted in some way by this disease, to know about the resources available in our Valparaiso community. End the stigma. Progress, not perfection.
