Fall is the season to plant trees! A reimbursement program exists to aid Valparaiso residents in the replacement and/or new plantings of trees within city limits. There are 2 types of reimbursements:
- Any city resident who plants a suitable tree on their property, visible from the public way, can receive 50% of the cost of the tree, not to exceed $100 per household, per year.
- A special reimbursement for a limited time is being offered to any city resident who lost a tree during the March 30, 2025 storm. Reimbursement is increased to 100% of the cost of the tree, not to exceed $100 per household. The program is available April 29, 2025, through April 30, 2026.
Interested residents will be required to follow the guidelines outlined in the current Tree Fund Reimbursement program as outlined on the Parks website. A link to the website is https://www.valpoparks.org/289/Horticulture
