At the Jan 23, 2026 Board of Works & Public Safety meeting, the Engineering dept. requested authorization to bid sidewalk packages 1 & 2, which are included for your review. Pkg #1 was based on resident concerns and other areas in need of sidewalks. Pkg #2 is for new pathways. If sidewalks in your neighborhood are in need of repair/replacement, enter a ticket in the Valpo Voice A Concern portal. https://www.ci.valparaiso.in.us/1736/Valpo-Voice select city services, then enter sidewalk inspections in the topic of the ticket and enter addresses where there are missing links and/or sidewalk replacement.

I supported a second year of sidewalks/pathways funding in the amount of $800,000 in the 2026 Redevelopment Commission budget. The 2026 local income tax budget includes $390,000 for sidewalks/pathways, for a total of $1.19 million budgeted in 2026!
